Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus

English568

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.

O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
'Neath the healing, cleansing flood.

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.

I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

This song was tuned in my spirit when I was planning my wedding, it was the processional hymn. Indeed it is so sweet to trust in Jesus, I have proven Him over and over again. It's been glory all the way.

Tonight, my soul is lifted in Thanksgiving.

Thank You Lord for the Grace to trust You always.

Friend, the Christian faith is a life of FAITH or TRUST. At the last stanza we see Louisa's personal experience, how that she was "so glad that I learned to trust Thee"

Note please, that trusting Jesus, as simple as it sounds is but perfected through learning. God does take us through different situations, including the schools of difficulties and at times disappointments etc., just so we learn to trust Him; causing wells around us to dry up just so we might look up! The experience is unpalatable but the certificate acquired isn't written in ink on paper but stamped on the receiver's life, resulting in abundant living afterwards!

It is indeed God's desire that we lose trust in all else, including our very selves, and vest that trust in Christ alone. This is but the sure way to experiencing His power in our lives and practical circumstances. Those who knew the cruciality of this did cry out even with tears, "I believe Lord, help Thou my unbelief!" (See Mark 9:24).

Are you willing to let Him teach you the great virtue of trusting Him?

Great hymn; all we need is to trust him, and he will see us to our journey's end.

Just to take Him at His word; Just to rest upon His promise; Just to know what saith the Lord..... Now this is the combination for a life of all round rest. I’m enjoying my life because of this. Life is Excellent because I trust Jesus.
