Come, O Thou Traveler unknown

1
Come, O Thou Traveler unknown,
Whom still I hold but cannot see;
My company before is gone,
And I am left alone with Thee;
With Thee all night I mean to stay,
And wrestle till the break of day.
2
I need not tell Thee who I am,
My sin and misery declare;
Thyself hast called me by my name,
Look on Thy hands, and read it there;
But who, I ask Thee, who art Thou?
Tell me Thy name, and tell me now.
3
In vain Thou strugglest to get free;
I never will unloose my hold;
Art Thou the Man that died for me?
The secret of Thy love unfold;
Wrestling, I will not let Thee go,
Till I Thy name, Thy nature know.
4
Yield to me now, for I am weak,
But confident in self-despair;
Speak to my heart, in blessings speak,
Be conquered by my instant prayer;
Speak, or Thou never hence shalt move,
And tell me if Thy name be Love.
5
'Tis Love! 'tis Love! Thou diedst for me,
I hear Thy whisper in my heart;
The morning breaks, the shadows flee:
Pure, universal Love Thou art;
To me, to all Thy mercies move;
Thy nature and Thy name is Love.
6
Lame as I am, I take the prey;
Hell, earth and sin, with ease o'ercome.
I leap for joy, pursue my way,
And, as a bounding hart, I run,
Through all eternity to prove
Thy nature and Thy name is Love.

I lost my father recently, who was also a partner in business travel, so I sang this hymn (just now) in memory of him and the Lord Christ who still travels with me today. As a member of the "universal priesthood of belivers," I know that we have the blessing of this personal Presence with us at all times, so I pray that I will "walk with Him" in love as He so desires. Thank you, Charles Wesley, for your hymn-writing genius!

Dear Patricia Morrison

I don't know whether you are still with us. You wrote your comments here 3 years ago and a lot has changed; many have died. One thing I know: if you have left this planet, you are now in glory, and at that, I rejoice! Thank you for sharing your lovely testimonies and your heart here. They have richly blessed me. And yes, what almighty truth is in this almighty hymn. To think the Lord, Himself, revealed it to your mother! How precious she was to Him! (And to yourself and others, no doubt. ) God bless you and Keep you. Ps 27:4, 5 🌹

I sing this hymn in memory of my mother she was a peaceful and forgiving humble soul she got the hymn in vision when she was pregnant she was a prayerful soul whom God love departed this life to the realm of saints today I pray to follow in her footstep. there are saintly people who have taught and done good deeds silently. and went through the flood, through the fire through many adversities and no one know how much these people are living earthly saints, preyed upon slaughtered, abused, verbally and physically and emotionally, lots of us Christian use the heavenly father for convenience CHURCH has become a business with tithes and offering no more healing just broken souls.
