To God be the glory, great things He hath done

Worship of the Father His Redemption

English39

1

To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

2

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

3

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.

I'm 80 in a few days time so you won't have to guess why this hymn means so much to me. I woke this morning really early, just after 4am, and this hymn was the first thing I thought about. I couldn't remember all the words, but I googled it and here I am. Praising the Lord and giving thanks.

This song really gives a rapport between man and our Father in heaven. When you meditate perfectively on this tune, You will understand that, you really have to give thanks to God for His forever love and care. God bless the composer and the organist who played this song. Shalom

This song is the entire essence of God's love for creating us in His Image and likeness with a complete package of salvation included.

This hymn is the summary of the Redemption of Christ's believers. It also show that the blood of Jesus Christ is the greatest treasure between God and human. What a love from God and His son Jesus the Christ for such great treasure to have been extended for mere sinful humans.

I remember singing this song as a little girl and as an adult it still brings tears to my eyes to know His blood was shed for me. What an amazing life we have in Jesus.

Hi this song has an ever lasting effect on me. I feel the grace of God all over me.

I started listening to it at school in 1973 when I was 15 years old now I am 59 years old and I still love it. May the Lord be glorified forever in Jesus Name.

Thank you.
