I am presently in a situation that I need help from the Lord right now. I have vowed to the Lord to deliver me from this situation and not allow me to be put to shame and I will leave all life meeting His need all around the World. Helping others come out of this kind of problem all life.

This song is helping me as right now I'm facing a very difficult time in my life... I first understood the meaning of this song last year during my first year in varsity while this lady was singing it in church.... It helped me to understand that in everything that we encounter in life it could be good or bad we should always trust and lean on God for He is our rock in times of trouble and also in good times so when we have God in our lives He is not only there just to listen to us but He also take our burdens and make them His so we have every reason to sing and proclaim that it is well with our soul for everything we come across in life we have already won in Christ... As we over com by the words of our testimony... Lets keep on trusting and dwelling in his presence and it shall forever be well with our souls.

This is a song of positive confession, regardless of what has happened, anytime I sing it, there is a kind of an assurance that overwhelms me, and assures me that ALL IS WELL.

When trials and tribulations buffet you know that God has got your back. He is in the midst of everything with you and will see you through the other side. Do not look at the size of the problem but look at the sufficiency and the almighty power of the Lord. Declare It is well with my soul! Amen.

About the author, Horatio G. Spafford:

In November 1873, Spafford decided to take his entire family to Europe for a vacation, intending also to assist Moody in his evangelistic work once he arrived there. However, Spafford was unexpectedly detained in Chicago due to urgent business concerns, but decided to send his family aboard the S.S. Ville du Harve as scheduled. Midway through the trans-Atlantic voyage, S.S. Ville du Harve was struck by the English vessel Loch Earn and eventually foundered. Spafford's four daughters—Anna, eleven; Maggie, nine; Bessie, seven; and Tanetta, two—were among the 226 who perished in the aftermath. Mrs. Spafford, one of the few who were spared, sent her husband the heartbreaking telegram: “Saved alone.”

Spafford immediately sailed for England to join his grief-stricken wife. As his ship passed the approximate location where his daughters had drowned, his deep sorrow mingled with his unwavering faith in God's goodness caused him to compose the hymn, "It Is Well."

It is indeed a song of assurance. In time of need and when the worries take up my heart and it looks as if faith is no more there, His gentle voice came and remind me, Whatever my lot in this aging world that "IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL" and quickly faith takes its place and worries vanished.
