I wandered in the shades of night

E345
1
I wandered in the shades of night,
Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
Bid all my darkness flee.

Sunlight, sunlight, in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight, all along the way,
Since the Savior found me, took away my sin,
  I have had the sunlight of His love within.
2
Though clouds may gather in the sky,
And billows 'round me roll,
However dark the world may be,
I've sunlight in my soul.
3
While walking in the light of God,
I sweet communion find;
I press with holy vigor on
And leave the world behind.
4
Soon I shall see Him as He is,
The Light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
Throughout eternity.

If a person repents of their sin (Mark 1 verse 15, Acts 2 verse 28), then that person, after then believing that the Lord Jesus Christ took away their sins on the cross (2 Corinthians 5 verse 21, Hebrews 9 verses 25 to 28, 1 Peter 3 verse 18).

But this is NOT academic, but all due to the love of God (John 3 verse 16, Colossians 1 verses 13, 14), who will return to Earth again one day (John 14 verse 3, Acts 1 verse 11, Colossians 3 verse 4, Hebrews 9 verse 28, 2 Thessalonians 2 verses 2 to 9 - which speak of the antiChrist at the end of this present age). ). And only if they tell other people the gospel will they show prof that they are born again and going to Heaven (Romans 10 verse 9, 1 Perer 3 verse 15).

Reminds me of my childhood and happy times as a family in our little church where everyone knew everyone and it was a time of caring for others....our mothers were homemakers and took are of us and helped us memorize Bible verses and whole Psalms sometimes....we had "Sword Drills" to show that we children knew where the verses were, and could easily find them...great memories!

The entering of the Word giveth light. And Word is the light of men. Hallelujah, thank Lord for the unveiling.

I have not heard this song in years but when I was reading a post about light coming through a broken window the Holy Spirit reminded me of this song. God's light of His Word comes shining through when we hide His words in our hearts.

In my hymn book, there is an additional verse to this very cheerful song.

I cross the wide extended fields

I journey o'er the plain,

And in the sunlight of His love

I reap the golden grain.

May all believers be cheered and encouraged through this song today. God bless you all!
