Standing on the promises of Christ my King

Assurance and Joy of Salvation A Firm Foundation

English340

1

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.

2

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

4

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5

Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List'ning every moment to the Spirit's call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

This song really helped me get up again, was down with the issue of life... after playing and singing along, I got ignited. Glory to Jesus.

This is a song I remember from my childhood in church Sunday school over 70 years ago. It was true and uplifting then, and it is still true and uplifting today. Blessings on anyone who hears it and allows the saving God to work in their life.

Standing on the Promises of God is my favorite hymn to hum. Thank you for posting these lyrics.

I have a reassurance that God is indeed good, His promises are being fulfilled daily in my life. Thank you master Jesus for loving me first. A great song!

Thanks be to God for your Love for the people of God, revealed by your website. This song is a beauty, both in tune and substance (words). What a Religion? Christianity is a piece of emptying ourselves of all worldly gain so that God can fill us with His Spirit- in ever increasing measure.

What an encouraging hymn! I needed to sing it and speak every word back to the Lord. Oh Lord, thank You for Your abundant supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ today, and for Your promises that cannot fail! I love You Lord ❤️.
