My hope is built on nothing less

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

My hope is on Jesus Christ who does it all for me. I will not be where I am if not Christ, all my life he has shown love, mercy blessings. I just met a governor today who gave me his card to see him, then this song came to my mind which I shared and sang with my wife. My hope is on CHRIST not man. Thank You Jesus my solid rock of ages.

Hymmm! Jesus Christ is the mystery of our hope as Christians. This song has made a lot of spiritual impact in my personal life, family and ministry. To God alone we give all the glory for this great inspiration.

Is a clarion call for living legacy. More than a song but purpose.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.
May the Flame of the Holy Spirit, come & sweep us off our feet and
Dance us through our days from this Whit Sunday and beyond...

I don't hope in man but in Jesus Christ, because He is the solid rock, you will never sink if you hold Him.

Jesus Christ is my only hope and trust.

So I noticed a couple of changes from the original and wanted to offer some corrections:
Verse 1 should read : "than Jesus' blood and righteousness"
And verse 4 should read: "Dressed in his righteousness alone"
Not sure why the lyrics were changed on this site, but every hymnbook I've seen has it as written above.
