Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

English166

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy
health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Sing now in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord, who o'er all
things so wondrously reigneth,
Who, as on wings of an eagle,
uplifteth, sustaineth.
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires all have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord, who hath fearfully,
wondrously, made thee!
Health hath vouchsafed and, when
heedlessly falling, hath stayed thee.
What need or grief
Ever hath failed of relief?
Wings of His mercy did shade thee.

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper
thy work and defend thee,
Who from the heavens the streams of
His mercy doth send thee.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord! Oh, let all that
is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come
now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen
Sound from His people again;
Gladly for aye we adore Him.

You made my day. Hallelujah!

I woke up this morning with this hymn ringing in my heart. I just couldn't hold myself, I reached out for my phone and got out the lyrics and began to sing, worshipping the Lord along with my kids. I could feel this refreshing presence of God all over me. Thank You Jesus for the privilege to worship You today.

What a joy to sing it again. The very first hymn I learned in grade school. Blessed be his name, our Lord Jesus. In all the years since has never abandoned me even in my rebellion. Great is his faithfulness..

I played this song during my daily devotions and reflect on my school days. We would have morning prayers and assembly and the Kolij boys would thunderously this favourite. Praise to the Lord O let all that is in me adore Him. What a blessed saviour He is.

This beautiful hymn of Zion blessed my heart this morning. I had not heard it or sang it in years. It’s all good but ….. Ponder anew, what The Almighty can do, Who with His love doth befriend thee…. really stood out for me this morning. All praise and all adoration to The Lord who is Our Soon Coming King. Amen & Amen.

A soul stirring hymn! When I sing this hymn two to three times at the beginning of my personal prayer to savour the words and meaning of the hymn, I feel a holy presence and I cannot my joy and then tears come rolling down. I love His presence... it’s like a fire burning inside of me. Thanks to the lyrics writer and to the one who gave the rhythm and melody to this song.

When our troubles overwhelm us praising God moves my being to lay it all at the altar and trust him to show us the way through.
