"Man of Sorrows," what a name
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! what a Savior!
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! what a Savior!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood;
Hallelujah! what a Savior!
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood;
Hallelujah! what a Savior!

Guilty, vile, and helpless, we,
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full redemption—can it be?
Hallelujah! what a Savior!
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full redemption—can it be?
Hallelujah! what a Savior!

Lifted up was He to die,
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in heaven exalted high;
Hallelujah! what a Savior!
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in heaven exalted high;
Hallelujah! what a Savior!

When He comes, our glorious King,
To His kingdom us to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing
Hallelujah! what a Savior!
To His kingdom us to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing
Hallelujah! what a Savior!

While street preaching, I often sing this song to the multitudes. It's my all-time favorite song!
Matthew 9
36 But when he (Jesus) saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
(KJV)
For a wonderfully inspiring impact, go up a partial octave on each stanza, and build to a great crescendo on the final stanza. Simply beautiful!

"It is finished!" What a comfort that the Author and Finisher of our faith is able to guide us through our lives, too. I praise Him for His wisdom, strength and love!

What a Saviour is Jesus Christ who died for us and what an unfortunate situation that the world so hates Him who saved them.

I love this song because it reminds me of what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross.
