Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth's sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life's storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth's sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life's storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
    Jesus, I come to Thee!

I was humming this hymn this evening cos I couldn't recall the lyrics. Asked my daughter if she did, was surprised she didn't so I looked it up. I'm glad I found it here, it assures me of the never ending love of Jesus Christ.

I am very much like someone who has commented above. Woke up seeking the Lord and bits of this song began running thru my mind. Couldn't find it, and nearly gave up, but found it here. More importantly finding the Lord Jesus to be present, real and true... good for His promises.

Though I have heard this hymn sung for years, only this morning did I see and appreciate its beauty and depth. WOW! We come humbly to Jesus as sick, depraved paupers and He graciously pours out upon us healing, holiness and eternal wealth!

This song came to me in my dreams tonight - wonderful memories of gospel services in a little meeting hall some 60 years ago now. ‘Ever Thy Glorious Face to Behold’, Jesus I Come to Thee! ’

At 3:00pm today - Resurrection Sunday, I was desperately crying out to God to help me overcome my weaknesses, crying to God to baptize me in his love, as I was praying, I got this song in my spirit: "Out of my bondage". I didn't know the lyrics. So I searched and found it here and every line is so profound and I appreciate it so much, exactly the plea of my heart as I was praying in the spirit.

This is a great encouragement that just as I am Jesus I come

It's really a delight to sing and even listen to the words

Stanza 4 is re-translated:

4. Out of the might of death of the foe,

Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!

Into the life that Christ does bestow,

Jesus, I come to Thee!

Out of the hopeless, endless abyss,

Into the home of refuge and bliss,

E'er to behold Thy face, glorious;

Jesus, I come to Thee!
