Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night

Gospel Coming to the Lord

English1050
1
Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy freedom, gladness, and light,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of my sickness into Thy health,
Out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
2
Out of my shameful failure and loss,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of earth's sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life's storm and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
3
Out of unrest and arrogant pride,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into Thy blessed will to abide,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of myself to dwell in Thy love,
Out of despair into raptures above,
Upward for aye on wings like a dove,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
4
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb,
Jesus, I come! Jesus, I come!
Into the joy and pleasure, Thine own,
Jesus, I come to Thee!
Out of the depths of ruin untold,
Into the flock Thy love doth enfold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold,
Jesus, I come to Thee!

Praise the Lord. There is hope. We can come to the Lord away from our various condition into God. Thank You Lord. Keep us coming to You.

I remember this hymn from when I was 12. Just caught myself humming it yesterday and here I am. What can I say, the hymn speaks to me!

This hymn came to mind in part and so glad to find all verses and then to read all the beautiful testimonies from the nations!! Praise God for His salvation in Jesus and for this lovely family.

I arrived early at the office and as I thought about my struggles with sin, this hymn came to my mind. I needed it to sooth me out of my sin and arrogant pride. Wonderful message.

So grateful for this site. I have looked thru my many hymnals and old song books with no luck. Only remembering a few words makes it really tricky finding the hymn, but you did it in seconds. Thank you so much. Now I can get back to the settings where we sang it.

Alleluia! What comfort to know we can get our of all the negatives and find rest in the positives and more that our beloved Lord has to offer. This song has been and continues to be a source of tremendous blessing to me over the years.

Thanks to you for this great service that you provide.

Blessings!

I love this hymn indeed. Whenever I am seeking God's deliverance in any area of my life, I normally repent my sins and most of the time I am led by the Holy Spirit to sing this hymn. It really ushers me into God's presence.

I thank God for the pastor who started our Pentecostal church (which has grown into several assemblies for the last 15 years). This pastor was has since gone back to Canada was used by God to nurture the church members in walking in holiness and singing in hymns alot. I attribute my love for hymns to his mentorship. Glory be to God.
