Rejoice in the Lord always

Phil 4:4 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Paul did not say rejoice when you are happy or rejoice when you are prevailing. He says rejoice in the Lord always don’t rejoice in your circumstances but rejoice in the Lord. This is not that easy.

What lovely comments from everyone over the years on this hymn.

Especially Rajendra Mandal from Kolkata, India.
If something needs to be done do it now.
Other people's texts were lovely too.
Especially the words and music in Hymnal.net

Rejoice in the Lord Always, And Again I say Rejoice. Blessings to you all this Advent and forthcoming Birth of Christ at Christmas.

This song can be sung as a round. Rejoice!

"If you have something to do, do it now
If you have something to tell, tell it now,
If you can make someone glad or another less sad,
Do it now(3)

Refrain:

Now before it is too late. Now's the time for every good deed,

Do not wait until tomorrow, for it may be just a little too late🎄

The joy in the Lord is a cure to our weary heart. Joy is a virtue rendered into us by the indwelling Spirit. I enjoy Rom. 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not the food and drink but the righteousness peace and joy in the holy Spirit." Rejoice in Him always.

"However do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in the heavens." (Luke 10:20, RcV) Lord Jesus, may we rejoice in You always. Amen.
