I love the lively tune of this song. Many times that tune comes to mind and it brings me to this song. “The mighty God even the Lord has spoken! ”
In the OT the Lord was ruling and speaking through King David on Mount Zion the highest place in Jerusalem.
We see God’s ruling always comes from a very high place. He is the high mighty God, even the Lord. Out of Zion, the perfection beauty God has shined. This beauty is the person of Christ the beautiful one.
Now in the NT we see God’s throne is not on a physical mountain but in Spirit and reality. Now that Spirit can rule in the highest place in our being, our human spirit. This is His throne today! There can we worship Him!! Christ the beautiful one can now shine out of us. And corporately the builded up church will shine like a city on a hill and illuminate the world.

Zion is the highest peak of the ancient Jerusalem. It is where David ruled his kingdom. Jesus has his route roots there as king.
