I read this song this morning and realize God’s life is deeper than my mind. Our understanding only helps that we need His life. This song is about Life, the Life of Jesus with His humanity. How I need this life and need it to go much deeper. Life is why we are here only by this life can we express Him. Oh turn us now, turn us deeper Life is how you will get your church you are longing for. Don’t let us be satisfied with less than your Life issuing out of your Spirit into our deepest part, our spirit. This Life can change us and make us living and vital!

I noticed this song is categorized as “Various aspects of the inner life”. I really enjoyed it when I read it and appreciated all the aspects of this life of Christ that are to be experienced. But as I read it again, I realized it was completely written in the plural. By living in our spirit and partaking the riches of the Lord in the Word, we grow in love and are changed from mere stones into gold, silver, and precious stones as materials for God’s building, the church. For this we must be together in a church life.
