Lord, You are the living spring

新歌194

Lord, You are the living spring,
The river of water of life;
Only You can quench my thirst;
Only You satisfy.
Lord, You are the living tree,
You are the Tree of Life;
Only You can fill my hunger;
Only You satisfy.

Every moment in so many ways
He is the sure supply;
Now and forever and always,
Only You satisfy.

Lord, You are the living vine,
In You we would abide;
Only You give life divine;
Only You satisfy.
So we must praise
And we must sing,
And we must testify;
Lord, You are the only One;
Only You satisfy.

This hymn reminds me that Christ is our unique source. He is the fountain in our spirit. Only He can satisfy our thirst and hunger. Nothing in this world can satisfy us.

I first sang this hymn in 1989. Thank You Lord for being our rich supply!

When we sang this song at our small group meeting, the Spirit washed over my soul, layer after layer. It felt so good to be refreshed, revived, as I had been dry for so long. We sang it again and again until we were all satiated. Just couldn't stop drinking this Living One. This Spring rescues me every time. Thank You, Lord, for being this real; so real to us.
