Out in the highways and byways of life

1
Out in the highways and byways of life,
  Many are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
  Making the sorrowing glad.

Make me a blessing, make me a blessing,
Out of my life may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
  Make me a blessing to someone today.
2
Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love,
  Tell of His pow'r to forgive;
Others will trust Him if only you prove
  True, every moment you live.
3
Give as 'twas given to you in your need,
  Love as the Master loved you;
Be to the helpless a helper indeed,
  Unto your mission be true.

When Jesus is lifted up He draws many to Himself.. John 12:32

Our everyday cry must be to lighten the burdens of others and make someone smile as our Master did. Such a beautiful song...

Maanindot kaayo paminawon kining huni nga sa igdulungog diin midagayday sa kasinkasing ang panalangin nga gikan sa Dios nga nahimo usab nga panalangin ngadto sa uban.

How beautiful indeed to hear such a wonderful melody flowing directly to the very bossom the blessing from the Almighty God that has become a blessing to others...

As others have commented, , iI woke with this song I have not heard for about 50 years in my mind! Wheelchair notwithstanding, Lord make me a blessing to someone today!

I woke up this morning singing this hymn in my head. It’s the first time in at least 40 years since I’ve heard it or sang it. The Holy Spirit reminds us for a reason. We must plant the seeds and reap the harvest of souls awaiting us in the fields.

I shared these lyrics with the men in our 7am Sunday prayer team as we start a new week.

This song has been in my mind from infancy as it is a ‘regular’ in churches I attend

My precious Mom taught me this song to sing as a small child as she played the piano.

It is the most precious moment I can recall that as a child, my Mom was The biggest influence in my life as a child, so much that after she was divorced we live together until the day she died. Every morning the song comes into my mind as I’m in the shower it is what I sing it is a prayer to me… I believe all the words in the song so strongly! Today I was able to share this with someone that meant so much to my son, her husband was like a father to my child!!

My child was 50 when he passed just recently, and he loved the woman I was able to pass this song on to so much but I feel like I’ve done something to make him so proud, and I’ve given her a tool that she I feel quite confident she will use until she gets called home to father God. Thank you Lord for music for prayers and for your letter to us. Thank you Lord for blessing me with being able to share something so beautiful to such a beautiful child of yours this morning who is getting ready to go out and pass out school bag bags to children and be a witness, oh Ms. Becky was already such a blessing !!!
