Lord, I take up my cross; I would follow Thee

Lord, I take up my cross;
I would follow Thee.
Fleeting fame, honor, wealth—
Dropping willingly.
Scolded, mocked, ridiculed,
I no heed would pay;
Sufferings, pressures too—
Walk Thy narrow way.
Trust Thy grace, heed Thy word,
Faithful to the end.
Gain that day from my Lord
Matchless diadem,
Matchless diadem,
Matchless diadem.
