Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you!

I sang this song as a little girl. I came across it this morning and it touched something so deep in my heart. I have been grieving over my family and this song reminded me of how long the Lord has been watching over me.

The old songs of yesterday have the words that apply to us of the modern age, if not more than ever. The uplifting words of this song struck my heart as I was thinking, although living very humbly, will we ever be out of debt to this money loving world. Praise God, he loves and cares for us and not because of what we have or not have.

When I was a little girl and my Daddy's alcoholism was at its worst, Mother would sing this to her three daughters. Right after that, Daddy gave his heart to Jesus and became a preacher. Since then many songs have become meaningful, but this one remains a favorite.
