Be not dismayed whate'er betide

I have just been reading of the tremendous impact this song had on JC Penney, when he was just about 'down and out'. This is now ministering to me as I face unfavorable odds for employment, in a deteriorating economic environment. I must put my trust in the LORD Jehovah Jireh. To whom else can we hope?

My mother and father used to sing this song when I was a little girl. They sang it always when we took road trips. I'm doing a talk about anxiety for a church group, and am making bookmarks on cardstock with these words to give to the people who may want them. They will then have them when they are anxious and discouraged. I love this song and its words and tune. These older songs really have a message for us.

This is one of the songs that inspire many a heart especially those that have no one to turn to. God is the only source of comfort. And one thing I like about it, It is true He takes care of His own

I sang this song as a little girl. I came across it this morning and it touched something so deep in my heart. I have been grieving over my family and this song reminded me of how long the Lord has been watching over me.

The old songs of yesterday have the words that apply to us of the modern age, if not more than ever. The uplifting words of this song struck my heart as I was thinking, although living very humbly,will we ever be out of debt to this money loving world. Praise God, he loves and cares for us and not because of what we have or not have.

When I was a little girl and my Daddy's alcoholism was at its worst, Mother would sing this to her three daughters. Right after that, Daddy gave his heart to Jesus and became a preacher. Since then many songs have become meaningful, but this one remains a favorite.
