Begin the day with God

Good morning to you LORD JESUS...

Oh dear Lord, may we not forget the words of this beautiful and inspiring hymn. Morning, afternoon and evening. We love you daily, Lord, as we sorjourn this sin-soacked wicked world!

One of my favorite hymns. My favorite stanza is stanza #5.

In stanza 1, last line, "lay" is an old English word for a short song or poem.

In stanza 2, last line, "rills" are small streams.

This hymn can be sung to the tune of #459. Father, we seek Your face first thing each morning. Dear Lord Jesus, You are our joy.

This song has been ringing in my thoughts because at school we use to sing it almost every morning. I am so glad I have found the words. They are so inspiring! A great old hymn.

Beloved Lord Jesus, I need to take my first walk everyday with You, O my God!

I want to let You go forth with me;
By stream, or sea, or mountain path,
