A wonderful hymn, so full of truth and promise. I thank God for inspiring J Bode the writer with words as relevant today as when he first penned them. I’m so thankful that seven decades ago,
I sang this hymn in school assemblies and was drawn to Jesus through it. Alas, todays young people no longer have that blessing as Christian worship in school rarely exists. Maranatha - Come Lord Jesus.

The hymn is a great inspiration for the seeker travailing alone striving to break off from the enticing world. The pathway of spirit is unfamiliar and unknown. It is only the silent accents and murmurs that are the signage. It rings in my heart with tenderness unknown in the world. What a joy , what a gift for the times of trial !
