Bursts on my open sight—Nothing between.

2. To Abide, to Remain, in the Son
Once we see the fact that we are branches in the vine, we need to maintain the fellowship between us and the vine. Any insulation will separate us from the rich supply of the vine tree. A little disobedience, a sin, or even a sinful thought can be the insulation that separates us from the riches of the vine. If we do not condemn such things but hold on to them, they will insulate us from the rich supply of the vine tree. First, we must see that we are branches. Then we need to maintain the fellowship between us and the Lord. Nothing should be between Him and us. There is a hymn in our hymnal that opens with the words Nothing between, Lord, nothing between. From experience we know that even a small thing can insulate us from the rich supply of the vine tree. We need to pray to the Lord, “Lord, let there be nothing between You and me separating me from Your rich supply. ”

A CLEAR SKY AND A CLEAR CONSCIENCE
We Christians need to maintain a clear sky with the Lord. This means that we need always to have a clear fellowship with Him. We should have nothing between us and the Lord. When there is nothing between us and the Lord, our sky will be crystal clear, and our conscience will be pure, void of any offense (Acts 24:16).
We need to be deeply impressed with the fact that if, as Christians, we would have a clear sky, a crystal heaven, before the Lord, we need to have a conscience that is without offense. Whenever there is condemnation or an offense on our conscience, our sky immediately becomes cloudy, darkened, and foggy. At such times we should confess our failure and our sin to the Lord and receive His forgiveness and the cleansing of His precious blood (1 John 1:9, 7). This will cleanse our conscience so that it will be void of offense. We will again have a clear sky and a clear fellowship with the Lord, with nothing between us and Him.

The Lord gave me this hymn early this morning as I was opening my heart to Him in prayer. The Lord desires even more than we to reveal His Son in us (Gal. 1:15-16) and fill us with Himself (Eph. 3:19). So why would we consider, even for a moment, the value of anything other than Christ, Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). But this is a necessary exercise of heart to allow the Lord to shine on and rid ourselves of every bit of garbage that comes between us and our Lord Jesus Christ.

This hymn brings me under a subject of reflection to looking forward and searching myself of some cripples things that may creeps themselves into my life and hinder me from the love of God and not seeing my Lord at the final day... Nothing Between is a sober reflecting song.
