Complete in Thee! no work of mine

Assurance and Joy of Salvation Secured by Divine Provisions

English328

Complete in Thee! no work of mine
May take, dear Lord, the place of Thine;
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And I am now complete in Thee.

Yea, justified! O blessed thought!
And sanctified! Salvation wrought!
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And glorified, I too, shall be!

Complete in Thee—no more shall sin,
Thy grace hath conquered, reign within;
Thy voice shall bid the tempter flee,
And I shall stand complete in Thee.

Complete in Thee—each want supplied,
And no good thing to me denied;
Since Thou my portion, Lord, wilt be,
I ask no more, complete in Thee.

Dear Savior! when before Thy bar
All tribes and tongues assembled are,
Among Thy chosen will I be,
At Thy right hand—complete in Thee.

The teens and workers sang this song at our sweet Savannah’s Homegoing service. It is a sight we will never forget. Love the truth of this song.

I am just hearing this song. It really says it all. We are going to learn it for our church.

This song has worn a groove in me that I wasn't aware of until I heard it this past Sunday. Seeing the words as if for the first time, I knew I had to know them by heart - even the words "by heart" mean more with a song that you desire to be a part of you.. I searched online remembering only "sanctified and glorified " and here I found it - immediately. What a blessing to find the comments of so many others who share God's Spirit in them and who are, complete in Him.

God bless!

This hymn that says so much was brought to mind while reading Oswald Chambers this morning. He was writing about self-consciousness. "It is never God's will that we should be anything less than complete in Him. Anything that disturbs rest in him must be cured at once and it is not cured by being a ignored, but by coming to Jesus Christ."

Or, as my friend Marguerite says, "Back to Jesus"

Our choir's barbershop quartet sang this song at our concert. I LOVE it. They make it sound so amazing, a capella and all.
