Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save me from its guilt and power.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All could never sin erase,
Thou must save, and save by grace.

Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.
Nothing in my hands I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace:
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

I am deeply strengthened as I listened to this song. May the good Lord blessed the writer and family 👪 with all singers.

Wish it would be fully lyrics as in song books. They left the chorus out. I can't find any webite with full lyrics.

Beautiful, comforting, blessed hope that Jesus Christ gave us such music to encourage to stay connected over the ages, till He appears! Thanks.

Honestly this song rang to my ears this morning. I was like, wake up and sing this: Rock of Ages. There is big joy in me after singing the song. I love this song.

This hymn has been a favorite since the early days after I was saved. Thank you to the hymnal.net brothers who put all the quotes (see the " tab) from LSM adjacent to the comments on this page.

This song, very wonderful. Am a very prayerful person, normally before I pray I sing two songs. But a few days ago, I replaced the songs with Rock of ages, and Hark the voice of Jesus calling..., It has really been very blessful. Now I sing hark the voice of Jesus calling, then Rock of ages, then I pray, oh, I feel very refreshed, drawn to God, and I have seen great change in me spiritually. God is great.
