All the way my Savior leads me

1
All the way my Savior leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
  Jesus doeth all things well,
For I know, whate’er befall me,
  Jesus doeth all things well.
2
All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread,
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! a spring of joy I see,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! a spring of joy I see.
3
All the way my Savior leads me;
Oh, the fullness of His grace!
Perfect rest to me is promised
  In my Father’s blest embrace.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day,
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way,
This my song through endless ages:
Jesus led me all the way.

"This my song through endless ages: Jesus led me all the way"

This is my song for life

It is now 3. 55 am and having not been able to sleep I took some time to talk to the Lord. Have not done this for a long time. I was comforted when finished and this song came to me - gives me grace for every trial - oh thank God for GRACE - when all seems lost, there is still HOPE.

Woke up shortly after 5 this morning, and as I came downstairs to pray so I wouldn't wake my wife up, the phrase "Jesus doeth all things well" began to echo in my mind. It's been many years since I've sung this hymn. But how true it is, He does everything with eccellence, even when we don't always see that in the moment. What a wonderful Lord! Have Your way in every heartbeat, every aspect of my life!

I was awakened in the wee hours this Sunday morning with the precious words and music of the last two lines of this wonderful song being repeated over and over in my mind and spirit. I arose, was led to my computer and found these words and music, with comments left by others from around the world. Truly, this our song thru endless ages, Jesus led us all the way.

I have bee waking up with the first two lines singing in my ears just like so many of you. I was moved this morning in reading the comments, and considered how our Savior cares for each of us around the world. My daughter is currently hiking the Pacific Crest Trail along the west coast of the USA (around 2, 500 miles). She is over half way, having hiked through the High Sierras through a record snow year. Mark and I are constantly praying for her! This hymn's imagery of the journey matches so well the weary walking and thirst she faces. Also, at the same time as I have been waking with this hymn, I have been meditating on Jeremiah 9:24: "Those who wish to boast should boast about this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I AM THE LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken."

There is no better feeling than in knowing that when you put on a seat belt on a plane taking you thousands of feet above ground, that at the helm there is a trained pilot who has made it his life's mission to take people home safely through the clouds. In life's journey Jesus is that pilot who has a home for us beyond the clouds where he has made a home for us and through this journey his nail pierced hands hold us in safety. We can rest in Him who leads us all the way.

Rest at last!!!

Torn up inside over a destructive and wasted life. Up at night crying out to God for mercy and grace, surrendering life to Him and asking He use my life for good. The words of Romans 3:24 and Isaiah 55:7 we're given, along with the first words to this precious song which led me here to the full lyrics. The Lord hears and brings soul rest, and hope for the future. He is glorious in compassion!

I have just heard that the church my eldest son and his family worship with in Canada is planning on a church build/assist in Turkey and he wants to take his eldest son and our first grandson to Turkey with him this year.

As my mind raced and thoughts of the dangers and the great need swirled about this hymn came to mind and a measure of the 'heavenly peace' filled me, what indeed do I have to ask beside.

The Lord has led them.
