O doubting, struggling Christian

1
O doubting, struggling Christian,
  Why thus in anguish pray?
O cease to doubt and struggle,
  There is a better way.
  O settle it all with Jesus,
  O settle it all today;
O cease to doubt and struggle,
  O cease to plead and pray;
O rest in His word forever,
    And settle it all today.
2
Give up thy will to Jesus,
  And trust Him though He slay;
Hush all thy fears and questions,
  And settle it today.
3
O soul so tossed with tempest,
  Upon His promise stay;
Cast out faith’s strong sheet anchor,
  And settle it today.
4
Lord, I give up the struggle,
  To Thee commit my way;
I trust Thy word forever,
  And settle it today.

A Christian Who Has Settled It With Jesus

'Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out'

'Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest'

The Bible says 'Look unto Him. Don't look at yourself - that won't do any good. Look unto Him. Don't look at your sins - 'The blood of Jesus Christ cleaneth us from all sin' - so look, look unto Him and believe.

Praise the Lord. Yes there is nothing we doubt and struggle, but settle it all with Jesus, Jehova the Savior. Hallelujah.

Thank you so much brother for including this hymn, we certainly have to let our struggle, to Thee comit my way, we must trust on His word and on HIs will. Praise The Lord!!!!

The title of this song drew me in; the words are o-so-very-very timely. In the wrestling match of questions, in the aftermath of trauma, in the midst of "WHY? O DEAR LORD WHY?" , these lyrics from long ago bring comfort to me today. Thank you so much for including them.

While I was singing this hymn I considered it to be so general in its subject to "settle it all." Yet singing it in the Lord's presence, it became so specific. It could point to my hidden sin, my worldly pleasures, my resistance to serve the Lord, or even to my unwillingness to mend things with another person. As I continued singing, I knew what I needed to settle before the Lord. "Lord, I give up the struggle, to Thee commit my way."
