I’m pressing on the upward way

1
I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
  Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
  Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
3
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
4
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

I woke up with this powerful and anointing song in my heart. I had to pray fervently and seek God. Its such a blessing to worship in the beauty of holiness. To God be the Glory.

All thanks to God almighty. We just finished a preparation meeting for Sunday service on a Saturday evening and I got to lie down on the bed, then the holy Spirit brought the hymn into my spirit, can't even remember the last time I sang the hymn, but I thank the holy Spirit for the inspiration and by the time I goggle it and I sang it with joy in my heart and laughter in my mouth, it was a confirmation to what holy Spirit has been sharing with for some few days ago. All thanks to God almighty.

And a great thanks to the initiator of this platform. More grace and God bless you in Jesus name. Amen.

Glory to Jesus... I was just so weak to pray, crying like a baby and asking the Lord to help me, immediately this song came to my spirit I grabbed my phone googled it and I landed here... the stanza 3 is a light bulb moment for me cos devil has been throwing the darts of prayerlessness at me but today my faith has caught a joyful sound... I will keep pressing on the upward call still I lay hold of something... It's too late to give up.

Also, stanza 2 stood out for me, the song quickly took out doubts and fears from me currently am trusting God for success in my Nclex exam and the enemy has been bringing fear and doubts to me and I refuse to doubt what God has told me and fear... I press upward to the success God has for me!! I have victory in Christ Jesus!! 😄

God bless you for putting this together. Heaven reward you!

Awakened early this morning at 4:45 while it was still dark outside, the Holy Spirit brought this hymn to mind that I have not sung in 50 years. Post-covid prices are SO much higher for everything: gasoline, food, housing - it is insane. So many tornados, floods in some areas, while fought & wildfires in others. I have pondered, Lord where is all this leading. I Googled it and found this website, so I could sing it. ❤️ blessings from Greeley Colorado & Texas USA.

To be in the spirit is the key, the secret. In the spirit we will experience many wonderful things of Christ because we have crossed the Jordan and entered into Canaan. When we are in the spirit, we are in the rest, and we are in the Holy of Holies. Therefore, we must always renounce the natural man, the outer man. For example, many times in the Lord's work I was tempted by the enemy to quarrel with others. On those occasions I felt that my reason was right, that the case was mine, and that I had the doctrine to support me. Yet while I was trying to speak, something deep within restricted me and stopped me. In order to go along with that deep feeling, I had to drop my quarreling. Consequently, it seemed that I had nothing to say. But I can testify that every time I went along with the spirit, there was victory. If we take care of our spirit, the mighty One in our spirit will be our strength. We will be transcendent and victorious over many things. When we come to the meetings, we will come with many items of Christ to contribute, either in prayer, singing, giving a testimony, or speaking a short word. Philippians 4:13 says, "I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me." But where does Christ empower us? He empowers us in our spirit. Our mind is the stronghold and the open gate for the enemy, but our spirit is the base for the Lord to do His work. Thus, when we go along with the mind, we are defeated, even though we may be doing something good. But if we go along with the spirit, we will be victorious. We will be on a high mountain, on higher ground, and, in the words of a hymn, "on Canaan's tableland" (Hymns, #396). We will be in the heavens and will be transcendent.
