The love of God is unfathomable. It is love that reached down to save a person like me. I am forever grateful to Jesus Christ who suffered, died and rose up from the dead to accomplish my redemption. Really, the love of God lifted me. Have you tasted of this love? For God so loved the world that He have His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. I've been concerned about how ineffective I am in telling others about Jesus and what He's done for me. I woke up this morning and was reminded that the soul of anyone who dies without asking Jesus to save them will be lost for all eternity. So every moment they live without Jesus, they are in the greatest danger of instantly being lost and cut off from any chance of a joyous eternity with God in heaven. The third verse warns that they really are 'souls in danger' and need to 'look above' to Jesus for the safety that only he can secure. He is the 'lifeboat' we need to get into.
Beautiful memories of how this hymn ministered to me when I was a young adult and my mom played it for me. God is so good!

I have been in a very dark place. On a real downward spiral. But God has been working deep healing in me. Last night I did a module on helping others find significance in life from AACCs mental health program. It was equipping me to help others but it ministered so deeply to me about God's love and about my life being meaningful. Today this song came to my mind as I woke up. Not in my hymn book but I found it here. Love has lifted me! Love is lifting me! Love will lift me!

I woke up this morning having an intensive worship and praise and thanksgiving to my God, pondering on the events around my life in the last one year, May 2020-May 2021, This song then came to my spirit. I googled the lyrics and sang it several times. So refreshing, so assuring and so exciting. Thanks to God, the One who is there when none else shows up and the One who lifts up with His love.
