Christ our Redeemer died on the cross

1
Christ our Redeemer died on the cross,
  Died for the sinner, paid all his due;
Sprinkle your soul with the blood of the Lamb,
  “And I will pass, will pass over you.”
  “When I see the blood,
When I see the blood,
When I see the blood,
  I will pass, I will pass over you.”
2
Chiefest of sinners, Jesus will save;
  All He has promised, that will He do;
Wash in the fountain opened for sin,
  “And I will pass, will pass over you.”
3
Judgment is coming, all will be there,
  Each one receiving justly his due;
Hide in the saving, sin-cleansing blood,
  “And I will pass, will pass over you.”
4
O great compassion! O boundless love!
  O loving kindness, faithful and true!
Find peace and shelter under the blood,
  “And I will pass, will pass over you.”

May we always live a life that makes Him see the Christ in us, everytime He looks upon us.

Thank you, my saviour, for the unleavened love that you have for me.

May I offer you a worship and respect, that has no leaven of hypocrisy in it.

Be blessed, my Redeemer, for thou art worthy.

Thank you for loving me...

"When God sees the blood of the Lord Jesus, He forgives our sins and by no means remembers them anymore" (Watchman Nee)

Oh, may we all see this!

Thanks for making this great and timeless hymn available online. We are grateful to God that through the blood of Jesus Christ The Lord make a distinction between us, the believers, and others just as He did in Egypt between the Israelites and the Egyptians.

To God be the glory for the blood of Christ Jesus that saves us from our sin allowing the wrath of God against humanity’ sin to pass over us who have accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord.

Thanks for making this hymn readily available online. God bless you for the encouragement we derive from your site.

Many people like to talk about the passover, but not many realize that the crucial point of the passover is related to eating the flesh of the lamb. They talk about the blood and also love to sing "When I see the blood, / When I see the blood, / When I see the blood, / I will pass, I will pass over you" (Hymns, #1005). The blood is precious; however, they do not see that after applying the blood, there is still a need to eat the flesh of the lamb, gird their loins, and put sandals on their feet in preparation for their journey (Exo. 12:6-11). If we only apply the blood for a month, but do not eat the flesh of the lamb, how can we journey on? If I did not eat for just two or three days, I would not be able to give a message properly. Each time I give a message, it seems as if I am livelier than the young people. This energy comes from eating; eating well gives us strength.

First Corinthians 5 tells us that Christ is our Passover (v. 7). He is the Passover lamb. When those in Christianity use the passover lamb for gospel preaching, they always stress the blood. We have a good hymn, the chorus of which says, "When I see the blood,...I will pass over you" (Hymns, #1005). But we need to see that with the passover lamb there is something in addition to the blood. That is the meat. The blood had to be shed, and the meat of the lamb had to be eaten. The striking of the blood was for the eating of the meat. They applied the blood to the house, and then in the house they ate. The striking of the blood was not the goal; the eating of the meat was. Christ is the real Passover lamb, and He has been sacrificed for us, not only to redeem us but also to satisfy us. His blood redeemed us, and His life satisfies us.
