About Numbered Notation

Numbered Notation (also called Jianpu, 简谱) writes each melody note as a number from 1 to 7 instead of a note on a staff. The number shows the note's position in the song's scale -- not its exact pitch -- so the same tune looks identical no matter what key it's sung in.

Within one octave, the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 correspond to the familiar do re mi fa sol la ti. A dot above a number raises it an octave higher; a dot below lowers it an octave lower -- no dot means the middle, as-written octave.

A plain number lasts one beat. A dash (-) right after a number holds that same note for one more beat. A line underneath a number shortens it instead -- one line is half a beat, two lines a quarter of a beat. A 0 is a rest: silence for one beat.

The label at the top of the sheet, like "1=C" or "1=Ab", shows which pitch scale degree 1 ("do") is tuned to. A song in a minor key is labeled "6=X" instead -- scale degree 6 ("la") is the true tonic. Chord names printed above the notes (like "C" or "G7") always use their familiar letter names, never numbers.

For example, under a "1=C" heading, the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 sound as C D E F G A B. Under a "1=G" heading, those very same numbers sound as G A B C D E F# instead -- same shape, different key.

Christ to me is so subjective

Experience of Christ As the Subjective One

English537
1
Christ to me is so subjective,
In my spirit dwelleth He;
Christ to me is all-inclusive,
As the Spirit one with me.

So subjective is my Christ to me!
Real in me, and rich and sweet!
All-inclusive is my Christ to me!
All my needs He fully meets.
2
Christ to me is so subjective,
Life imparting all the way;
As the Spirit He revives me
And refreshes day by day.
3
Christ to me is so subjective,
All my being He transforms;
By the mind and will renewing
To His image He conforms.
4
Christ to me is so subjective,
Liberating pow’r is He,
By the law of life and power
As the Spirit setting free.
5
Christ to me is so subjective,
Regulating all the day;
He corrects and rules and guides me,
And adjusts in every way.
6
Christ to me is so subjective,
All my thirst He satisfies;
With His riches He supplies me,
Thus God’s fullness testifies.

X. CHRIST IN YOU

-----------------

What a Christ we have within us! The Christ who indwells us has all the aspects covered in this message. He is the portion of the saints, the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, the firstborn from among the dead, the One in whom God’s fullness dwells, the mystery of God’s economy, the mystery of God, the reality of all positive things, and the constituent of the new man. Although all these aspects of Christ are revealed in the book of Colossians, we did not see most of them because they are not according to our natural concept. What corresponds to our concept is Paul’s teaching about wives submitting to their husbands, and husbands loving their wives. Even without reading the Scriptures, we have concepts about these matters. Instead of taking Paul’s word in Colossians for granted, we should dig into this book in order to discover for ourselves all these aspects of Christ. Then we need to praise the Lord and worship Him according to these aspects. We should say, “Lord, I worship You that You are the portion of the saints. I praise You that You are the image of the invisible God. ” How good to worship the Lord in this way!

This is the first hymn that I was able to memorize. This also caused me to have a spiritual turn before. I was able to appreciate the Lord more after realizing that our Lord could be enjoyed by us in so many ways! Although growing up from the children's meeting, I never realized it until I was able to sing this. "All-inclusive is my Christ to me! All my needs He fully meets."
