The Lord has touched me on the matter of my will. It is much too strong and it is much too self-focused. It is partial to the Lord, only sometimes willing to be submitted. O Lord I repent!
But I pray Lord be thou supreme in my will! Make me to think as you think. Make me to will as you choose to will. Not my will but yours be done (Luke 22:42b). Be patient with me. Make me an overcomer. Continuously kiss me with the kisses of your mouth upon my self-willed neck.

John Temperley Grey was born circa 1837 near Hexham, Northumberland, England and died August 25, 1903 in Abbotsford, Somerset, England. Grey was a clerk. He visited John Newman in his last illness.
Although there is not much information on his biography, he wrote some spiritual poems found in his book “Lays of a Christian Life. ” (1868). One such poem is
