May the mind of Christ my Savior

1
May the mind of Christ my Savior
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and pow'r controlling
  All I do and say.
2
May the Word of Christ dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
  Only through His pow'r.
3
May the peace of Christ my Savior
Rule my life in every thing,
That I may be calm to comfort
  Sick and sorrowing.
4
May the love of Jesus fill me,
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
  This is victory.
5
May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
  As I onward go.
6
May His beauty rest upon me
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
  Seeing only Him.

This hymn was written by Kate Barclay Wilkinson. It was not published until shortly before her death, a dozen or more years after it was written. We know almost nothing about about Mrs. Wilkinson, except that she may have worked with young women in London, and she may have been involved with the Keswick Convention in the UK.

But this hymn is actually rather profound and deep, speaking of how we should walk as Christians. It has been suggested that the six stanzas of the hymn are for each day of the week, leading up to the Lord’s Day, though of course, they carry truths which we need to heed to and be mindful of each and every day. The first stanza speaks of the mind of Christ, taken from Philippians 2. Following that, we are told to include in our lives God‘s Word (Colossians 3), His peace, and His love, and to live our lives with Christ as our center

(Hebrews12), and finally, to demonstrate the beauty of Christ in our lives. The fact that God can use a lone hymn written by an unknown person, to be a blessing to so many people in the generations that follow is actually a wonderful encouragement and comfort to us believers in our pilgrimage through this world with the hope that our “one talent” will have value for eternity. It is God who uses and multiplies what we offer to Him.

It's great to come across this highly inspirational hymn for the first time through the Herald of His Coming Publication. May the Mind of CHRIST my Saviour be found in me always till I see Him face to face in Jesus'Name. Thanks to the Hymnal.net for giving me the tune.

As I was preparing a Sermon on James 3 1 12 this Hymn came to me. May God control all I do and say. Amen

I woke up in the morning thinking about life's journey and how to please God in everything that I do and say in the face of mounting challenges spiritually, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. This hymn came to mind and started singing whilst at the same time thinking about my son writing his final WASSC examination and how I have prayed to God and continue to pray that God gives my son a success with excellence when the results are released no matter the situation believing that with God all things are possible, in fact, nothing is impossible to those who believe and trust in Him. Amen

I woke up this morning with the words of this song in my mouth. A great prayer. Used to be my high school song in the sixties. I didn't realise the truths at the time but now I do. It is still prayer today. May God help me.
